For this week’s Sunday Stamps we are to share anything we like, thus, am sharing one of my faves, the Harry Potter Forever Stamps. I got this booklet earlier late last year through a personal swap with one of my fellow Postcrossing Philippines member, Arnold. I received the stamp booklet earlier this year and, I guess it goes without saying that I was really delighted to get it!

Hogwarts professors Dumbledore, Snape, McGonagall and Hagrid

The booklet is comprised of 20 stamps that features our beloved Harry Potter franchise characters including Harry Potter himself, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, The Weasley Twins Fred and George, Ginny Weasley, and Luna Lovegood. It also features our beloved Hogwarts professors Dumbledore, McGonagall , Hagrid and Snape, as well as the other beautiful characters in the stories, Hedwig, Faux, Buckbeak and everyone’s fave, Dobby. Of course, the collection will never be complete without the villains Bellatrix Lestrange and He-who-must-not-be-named himself, Lord Voldermort.

The stamp booklet sure is a perfect way to look back at the stories that have been very close to my heart. Seeing them on these stamps made me want to revisit the books and films all over again. I have recently seen one of the films with my little man and we plan to watch each and everyone before the summer break is over. I also intend to re-read the novels as soon as I find the time to do so. Read more »

Sunday Stamps: Flowers

stamps, sunday stamps, India, Malaysia, USA

For this week’s Sunday Stamps, we are to share about flowers and I thought it was apt that we are doing this today as it is the Mother’s Day weekend. A bunch of flowers would really make any mum feel special, this mum included. But, of course, I’d choose flowers on stamps at any given time! :)

Here are a few of the flower stamps I’ve accumulated. The very first photo is that of Bladder Campion and Rhododendron. These came from India via my 11.12.13 swap last year. This second image is that of a Mawar {or English Rose} that came with an awesome Spiderman postcard mailed from Malaysia.

The next one is yet another flower stamp from Malaysia. Isn’t she just lovely? And I thought this last stamp should be included. After all it does look like a flower to me, won’t you agree? This is a lovely flower image which was mailed from Alaska, USA, and yes, I dislike the¬†folds and creases, too!

Well, I hope you like these flowers stamps as I enjoyed sharing them with you. Do not forget to hover Sunday Stamps for more awesome flower stamps.

Happy mother’s day to all the wondewoman mums out there! ^_^

Sunday Stamps: Stamps From Russia

It has been awhile since I have shared about my stamps. This week’s theme is all about stamps from Russia and since I do not have the privilege of time to rummage through my box full of postcards, I will just share most of the recent stamps I got from that region. Mind you, I have not been active the past few months with my Postcrossing.com swaps and focused mainly on personal swaps, so I was not getting a lot of postcards from Russia lately.

Anyway, here are a bunch of stamps I did get from the previous postcards sent to me from Russia. That first image features a very interesting strawberry scented stamp. It was my first time to received a scented stamp and I was really delighted to get it. It did actually smell like strawberries and I am surprised that it managed to retain the smell despite of the distance it has to travel. This stamp sure bring a big smile on my face. The stamp beside it is the Novgorod Kremlin, located on the left bank of Volkhov River in Veliky Novgorod. This stamp is part of the Sixth Definitives series – Russian Kremlins – Novgorod Kremlin issued in 2009.

The second image, on the other hand, features a number of interesting stamps, too, starting with a very cute New Year stamp. The stamp on its right features Lyudmila Pamokhova {1946-1986}, a Soviet ice dancer, a figure-skating world champion and a sport legend in Russia. This stamp is part of a set released in 2013, featuring other Russian sports legends. This group of stamps also include these animals, which can either be a fox or a dog.

Don’t you just love these interesting stamps? You can find more Russian stamps here:¬†stamps, Russia, sunday stamps
