US State Map Cards: South Carolina

postcards, map cards, 50 US States Map Cards, USA

It sure has been particularly quiet around here. This blog, along with the foodie and health and fitness blog, has to take the backseat while I tinker on the mum blog. Nowadays, I was too caught up with mummyhood, the mum blog also has to take the backseat. Been trying my best to draw the little one away from these mobile game apps and youtube, that I am also intentionally keeping myself away from going online, especially when I do not have pressing deadlines and during weekends.

Oh well, I guess it does not help either that our plan to travel more this year did not come to fruition, but hey, there are still a few more months left before 2015 ends and we can still probably squeeze in a couple of travel and outdoor adventures. We have just also been to Museo Pambata twice and have already been to Kidzania, where the little man cannot wait to go, during his school field trip. I hope I find enough time to share about our adventure here real soon.

Anyways, onto the main reason why I am writing this post. I have recently received this South Carolina US State Map card and I am really delighted that I am ticking another card off this 50-card collection. I am just a couple of cards away from completing this set and it is really getting quite exciting! I am glad that I have managed to swap with a couple of lovely people in order to get these cards. A New Philippine Map Card For Swap

Philippines, postcards, map cards

Postcrossing enthusiast consider this a rare map card as you will not usually see this design at local bookstores. Some say, you can buy these cards at the airport but they sell it at a rather steep price. I once received a copy of this from a postcrosser friend but I would really like to send this to my swap mates from different countries, too.

Philippines, postcards, map cards

That is why I am glad to see a bunch of these postcards when we visited Intramuros during the Pasyal Sunday event not too long ago. These cards are available at Manazan Handicrafts shop located just outside of Fort Santiago. There are many beautiful postcard designs on hand, so you will not run out of cards to choose from and I am betting you will find it hard to resist hoarding on cards you will probably not find anywhere else. Apart from beautiful cards, Mananzan Handicrafts also sell a lot of beautiful local products and handicrafts, including accessories, home decor, clothing articles, and jewelries made from local indigenous materials. I am not entirely sure whether they also have magnetic bracelets available, but there are loads of different interesting items to choose from. I am sure anyone who visit will not go home empty handed. Mananzan Handicrafts is a great place to stop by whenever you visit Manila or Intramuros, I am sure you will enjoy each visit.

By the way, I am swapping these rare Philippine map cards for UNESCO World Heritage cards I do not have in my collection, US State Map Cards that I am missing, Harry Potter or Disney cards the little man do not have yet, as well as British Royal Family cards. Leave a comment for your offers. You can also see the rest of my cards in my swap album.

Massachusetts State Map Card

postcards, map cards, 50 US States map cards

Here is another beautiful map card to add to my 50 US States map card collection.

This map card features some of the most famous landmarks in Massachusetts, including the Capitol Building, Faneuil Hall, Pilgrim Memorial and Maple Sugar. It also shows the industries in which the State is well-known for like fishing, paper mills, jewelry, textile, chemicals and shoes. I bet you can also find a couple of flyer prints company in this state even when the map card won’t show it.

The map card also shows a couple of interesting information about the state of Massachussets:

  • State Capital ~ Boston
  • State Bird ~ Chickadee
  • State Flower ~ Arbutus

Kelly who send this card lives in Pittsfield, a 3-hour drive from the state capital that has mountains and beautiful beaches as well as lighthouses in the coast.

A Map Card of Ireland

postcards, map cards, Ireland

Here is another map card to add to my growing collection.

Thought you might want to know about these interesting facts about Ireland:

  • Ireland is the third largest island in Europe and the twentieth on Earth
  • It is politically divided into 2, the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland which is part of United Kingdom
  • The Capital City of the Republic of Ireland is Dublin
  • Belfast, on the other hand, is the largets city in Northern Ireland
  • There are 3 UNESCO World Heritage Site in Ireland ~  Brú na Boinne in County Meath, Skellig Michael in County Kerry and the Giant’s Causeway in County Antrim

With abundant rainfall in Ireland, am guessing they’d be needing to shop for jackets and other similar apparel from www.peterglenn.com more often.

Thank you Anna for this colorful map card. It is now one of my favorites, too!

A Map Card of Isle Of Man

postcards, map cards, Isle of Man, UK

I got this almost-mapcard of Isle of Man from a direct swap with Gilly. the same person who sent me the Harry Potter 3D postcard.

Here are a few interesting trivia about Isle of Man:

  • Capital and largest city is Douglas
  • Ellan Vannin is Isle of Man’s name in Manx Gaelic language
  • Queen Elizabeth II is the head of state

Too bad Gilly was not able to write anything at the back of the card, I would’ve loved to share it with you all. Nevertheless, massive thanks for this colorful card! :)
