My World Post Day Haul

I was rather preoccupied when World Post Day this year came that I was not able to prepare cards to mail that day. I am glad, though, that I was able to get postcards the very same day!

My postcard haul for the day included these lovelies:

  • A Disney and Mickey Mouse card for the little man
  • this cool animal card which is also addressed to the little guy in the house
  • this very cool maxicard from Naga City {which I shall tell you all about in a separate post}

I am aware that local malls held World Post Day related celebrations to entice students to write mails and send postcards, too. Any postcard that arrived in my doorsteps, may that be of lovely cartoon characters, or UNESCO World Heritage Sites, or even about elation lighting is highly appreciated and I would love for other people to go through the experience. These cards are simply enough to make my day even better. Well, I hope you had a fruitful World Post Day celebration and I am hoping you got some surprises in the mail, too!

mayon volcano maxi card

postcards, maxi cards, Philippines, Albay

I got this maxi card a few months back from one of my dear friends online + my kumare {am not sure if there is an exact translation for this word in English, but simply put, she is the mother of my godson}.

The majestic Mayon Volcano postcard + the matching stamp was sent to me last April. This is one of the few maxi cards in my collection, so I really consider this a treasure! 🙂

Here are a few interesting facts you may not know about Mayon Volcano:

  • it is also known as Mount Mayon
  • it is the main landmark of Albay
  • is world-renowned for its perfect cone, thanks to its symmetric conical shape
  • it was proclaimed as Mayon Volcano National Park in 2000

Thank you mars Ria for sending this to me + for the message at the back! 🙂 I hope I get to see this majestic site real soon!
