Kiyomizu Temple in Kyoto

Here is another official Postcrossing.com card {ID#: JP-384859} and it features Kiyomizu Temple in Kyoto. According to the sender, Sheluna, this temple is very famous and has big wooden stage. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage site. She also mentions that a lot of tourists from around the world visit Kyoto and that this historical city is a popular sight-seeing city and is well-known for its beautiful temples and shrines.

This is a really beautiful sight and I love the cherry blossom in the left, too. This card also reminds me of thule ski rack, skiing and snow!

love the Japanese stamps, too! 🙂

Thank you for sending this card, I simply love it and I would really love to visit this place one day.

A Festive Card from Czech Republic

This card made me smile when I got it from the mail a few months ago. This is another official Postcrossing.com card with ID#: CZ-242044. This was mailed from Zlin by a 15-year old student, Yuuki.

This card has all the elements to one perfect celebration, won’t you agree? I particularly loved the bear playing what seems like one of those breedlove guitars from musicians friend!  😀 While his other furry friends join along to create the perfect party sound!

Don’t you just love the animals having a soiree and enjoying themselves? I do and thank you so much Yuuki for sending me this lovely card. How sweet of you to mention my little man on your message, too. And thanks for the beautiful stamp that you used on my card, as well!

Cecile Licad Adcard

postcards, adcards, Postcrossing.com, official postcrossing.com cards

Early this year I created a profile for my son on Postcrossing.com, I thought it would be a great idea to send twice as many postcards and received the same number. Jared already received two postcards, the latest of which is this curious adcard from Malaysia. Normally, I would really be disappointed to receive on, since I do not collect them much, except for those who have really beautiful designs. But this postcard is just nice since it features one of the Philippines prides, Cecile Licad.

Cecile is a world renowned Filipina Classical pianist and was also dubbed as “a pianist’s pianist” by The New Yorker. She is truly one of the pride of our country. I haven’t got the chance to watch her play, but I hope I will be able to do so one day. I bet they use only the best audio interface during a Licad concert.

Postcrossing.com Postcard Haul

postcards, Postcrossing.com

I said I plan to visit the Post Office more often this year but other things got the better of me and it has been weeks since I last visited. So you can just imagine my surprise when the kind clerk I fondly call “Nanay” motioned for me to drop by her post and handed me a stack of postcards. This is probably my biggest haul ever!  😀

I am using my permanent address for my Postcrossing.com profile and the local postman was kind enough to give the postcards to Nanay whenever there is no one available to receive them back home. I got 14 cards all in all and my virtual mailbox has never been this happy!

I shall feature each of them here meanwhile I will just register them all so their senders will know that I got their cards safe and sound.

How was your mailbox today?
