24 Hours of Le Mans

This race is the oldest sports car race that has been held annually since 1923. It takes place near Le Mans, France and it showcases some of the most highly coveted cars. It is important to note that this race is one leg of the Triple Crown of Motorsports with the other two being the Indianapolis 500 and the Monaco Grand Prix. It is the 24 Hours of Le Mans race that inspired the creation of many other famous races such as the Daytona 500 and the Nurburgring.

Daytona 500

This iconic race has been a favorite among car lovers for decades. The race is 500 miles long and is held annually in Daytona Beach, Florida in February around President’s Day. The race is highly coveted by race car drivers as it is one of four “restrictor plate” races in the NASCAR Cup series. In fact, this race is considered to be the most prestigious race on the NASCAR calendar. Bathurst 1000

If you are a lover of V8 Supercars, this is a race you cannot miss! This race is 1,000 kilometers, or 620 miles and is held annually in Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia. It is important to note that this event is unique in that it is a championship event for Supercars. Dating back to the 1960s, this race is traditionally run around New South Wales’ Labor Day in early October. Those who win the glory of coming in first in this race will receive a trophy that honors Peter Brock. Peter Brock is the most successful driver in history to win this race 9 times.

Grand Prix in Montreal

Held since 1961, what makes the Grand Prix in Montreal unique and one of the most exciting events you can attend, is that the entire city comes together to enjoy the spirit of racing. People will flock from all over the world to experience this race in early summer in Montreal, Canada. While there is a race taking place, the city opens its arms to tourists and puts on a grand party for all. When attending this race, you will also be attending a huge party along with great food, shopping, and entertainment over a 72 hour period. One of the main Formula 1 races, the Grand Prix in Montreal is a must see.

Monaco Grand Prix

This Formula 1 race has been held annually since 1929 and it takes place in France. It has been considered to be one of the most sought after races in the world and helps to form the Triple Crown of Motorsports along with the Indianapolis 500 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Car enthusiast or not, it will be a thrill of a lifetime to experience any of these races. But since I cannot afford it, riding one of those muscle cars or owning one of these uber-comfy best recliners, would be the next best thing!
