Postcards: Churches In The Philippines

I recently received this card from a postcrossing friend, Rence, that featured different Philippine churches. I just wish the multi-view mentioned their names as I do not recognize them.

The annotation at the back says:

Under centuries of Spanish influence, the Filipinos are predominantly Catholic as reflected by the many churches all over the island.

The postcard also has a beautiful stamp that features the Bantay Bell Tower found in Vigan, which was just released by Philpost. I sure hope it reaches our local post office very soon. Oh it even has the signatures of those who attended that postcrossing meet-up, including Robert Alejandro, a renowned artist and children’s book illustrator.

Thank you, as always, Rence for this lovely card. 😍

My Prize From A Postcrossing Giveaway Is Here!

Postcards and anything postcrossing-related is always a delight to receive in the mail!

I was lucky to win a giveaway in Postcrossing Philippines last month and it sure put a smile on my face whe I got to receive my prizes! Lookie! Some of these cards are blanked while some are used cards {official Postcrossing.com, in fact}. I love the cathedral card as well as the one from Japan. I also adore the big PH cards that include a couple of my favorites ~ tarsier of Bohol and Miag-ao Church of Iloilo {which is also a UNESCO World Heritage site}, which I shall be sharing with my sister {who is more addicted to postcrossing these days!}. I will also be sharing the University of Sto. Tomas cards to some members of our Facebook group. The package also included a pink clear folder for stashing postcards as well as 2 pieces of Miss World Megan Young stamps {Php30 denomination}, which will be handy when I send an envelope one of these days since I do not really collect stamps. I find it a joy to send them to postcrossing friends and put a smile on their faces! 🙂

Oh well, I am slacking in postcrossing these days and I am still contemplating whether I should request cards from Postcrossing.com or participate in an upcoming local swap in our group. I will try to decide after reading all about reason 7 MF.

How’s your postcrossing hobby so far and what lovely surprises did you receive from the mail lately? Do share in a comment below, right? 🙂
