free admission to ayala museum {18 may only}

travel, travel deals, The Ayala Museum, Makati, International Museum Day

In celebration of this year’s International Museum Day, Ayala Museum is offering FREE Admission on 18 May, 2012. That is a Friday, a perfect way to cap in the week + usher in the weekend. Plus, I bet you are now tired of frequenting the mall or going on those summer trips + swimming outings, you’d rather spend the weekend on a quite, serene + cultured museum in the city. One of the best things to do this summer, if you’d ask me!

Check out Postura portraits exhibition by Fernando Amorsolo, or revel in the Images of Nation: Victorio Edades exhibition, which pays home to the National Artist + Father of Philippine Modern Painting at the Third Floor Galleries. The Ayala Museum is located at Makati Avenue corner Dela Rosa Street, Makati City. It is open from 9am-6pm during Fridays. For more details you may contact {02} 757.7117 up to 21, or e-mail them at museum_inquiry@ayalamuseum.org.

International Museum Day is celebrated worldwide around 18 May since 1977. It is an occasion that aims to raise awareness on the importance of museums in the development of societies. ICOM, or the International Council of Museums, organizes for this annual event to last a day, a weekend, or an entire week, of a month, if need be. Museums from all over the world, including America, Africa, Europe + Asia, with 30,000 museums in more than 100 countries have all participated to affirm the popularity of this event.

If I am anywhere near a participating museum, I would definitely love to be part of this momentous celebration! 🙂

PPUR now officially one of the New7Wonders of Nature

destination, ppur, philippines

Remember the post I made campaigning for the Puerto Princesa Underground River? Well, it is now official + we have got yet another reason to be proud as Filipinos! The Puerto Princesa Underground River is now officially part of the New 7 Wonders of Nature. Check out the official announcement here.

Favored for its breath-taking view, for being one of the world’s longest  navigable underground river,  numerous stalactites + stalagmites, + a rich bio-diversity, PPUR is the second New 7 Wonders of Nature to be announced.

This a good day for both Palawan + the Philippines tourism, as making news about this majestic place will draw locals + tourists alike to visit the place, in turn, improving our tourism industry. I only wish I can visit PPUR with my little man very soon 🙂
