postcard perfect: duisberg, germany

This is one of the very first postcards I received from a Postcrossing member, a card from Duisburg, Germany. According to Wiki:

Duisberg, the 15th largest city in Germany, is an independent metropolitan borough within Regierungsbezirk Düsseldorf in the western part of the Ruhr Area (Ruhrgebiet) in North Rhine-Westphalia. It has the world’s inland harbour + is very near to Düsseldorf International Airport. Duisberg is also renowned for its steel industry + König Brauerei, a large brewery that makes the König Pilsener brand.

It looks like an interesting place to visit, + I wish I can do just that someday. By the way, this interesting postcard which also comes with the Altstadt Regensburg {a UNESCO Heritage site in Germany} stamp, is sent by Postcrossing member, Anja. Thank you so much! 🙂

the zamboanga la hermosa festival

If there is another festival I would like to be in this October, it has to be the Hermosa Festival in Zamboanga, which is more popularly known as Fiesta Pilar, in honor of the miraculous Our Lady of the Pillar {her own fiesta is held every October 12}. This month-long festivities which include {from Wiki}:

  • street dance competition
  • Wow Zamboanga which showcases tastes + talents of different barangays
  • talent search + beauty pageants
  • Cosechas de Zamboanga
  • sports fest
  • agriculture trade fairs
  • musical shows + concerts
  • Regatta de Zamboanga where the colorful vintas of the province race
I have never been to Zamboanga + have never seen a vinta in my life, I am sure it will be a very worthwhile experience if I do.

postcards for swap

It is Monday once again + I am just recuperating from all the muscle pain I got from strolling down the impossibly-crowded mall {no thanks to the on-going 3-day sale!} yesterday with my big baby in my arm.

Anyway, I finally managed to get out 2 weeks back + visit the mall after the onslaught of 2 typhoons in our province + I hoarded a few postcards to send to fellow postcrossing enthusiasts + for some private swaps.

You can check out my postcards for swap here. + if you’d like to swap, kindly fill out my contact form with your particulars.

Happy Monday + happy postcrossing!
